Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Resident Tech is responsible for providing personal care and related services to clients residing at Public Subsidized Housing Facilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Current CPR and Basic First Aid.
  2. Knowledge of medical terminology.
  3. Current and satisfactory report on pre-employment physical examination including TB Screening Test or chest X-ray as required by Agency policies and procedures. Must be free from signs of infection and illness.
  4. Must demonstrate competency in performing personal care services prior to providing patient care.
  5. Able to walk, bend, stoop, and lift objects appropriate for job performance. Must be able to perform all job responsibilities.
  6. Must be able to communicate effectively, read, write legibly, spell correctly, perform basic mathematics, understand and carry out service plans and physician orders.
  7. Knowledgeable of basic computer skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

  1. Assists with activities of daily living, such as bathing, hair care, skin care, oral care etc.
  2. Assists clients with transfers, such as in-and-out of bed. Assists with ambulation.
  3. Assists with prescribed exercises, as taught by appropriate health personnel.
  4. Assists with the preparation of meals, including therapeutic diets and assists clients with eating.
  5. Assists clients with toileting, going to the bathroom or in using commodes, bedpans or urinals.
  6. Assists clients with medications that are self-administered by the client.
  7. Performs other activities taught by a health professional for a specific patient. These may include such services as taking vital signs, and non-sterile bowel and bladder hygiene care.
  8. Monitors client activities, food intake, functional status, psychosocial status. Reports changes in the client's condition and needs to the ALW Facility Manager.
  9. Completes progress records regarding services performed.
  10. Performs simple household procedures essential to maintenance of proper health care at home, such as disposal of infectious secretions, cleaning of soiled linen, proper disposal of food, light housekeeping.
  11. Attends all mandatory in-service training and educational offerings. Completes all required in-services per year.
  12. Regularly attends and participates in scheduled case conferences and staff meetings.
  13. Complies with HIPAA regulations, maintains and conserves confidentiality of client and agency information at all times.
  14. Utilizes client equipment and supplies safely, efficiently and effectively.
  15. Familiarity with Title 22.
  16. Maintains comfortable work environment for all employees.
  17. Maintains proper timekeeping.
  18. Maintains all credentials up-to-date.
  19. Reports Fraud and Abuse.
  20. Knowledge of mandated reporting.
  21. Conducts timely recording and/or documentation of client contact.
  22. Attends Department meetings (in person, by phone or by web).
  23. Attends all State mandated in service trainings.
  24. Conforms to all agency policies and procedures.
  25. Performs other duties as assigned
