Human Resources Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION

Position: Human Resources Manager

Pay Range: $105,000-$125,000 PER YR

Reporting To: VP of Human Resources

Work Type: On-site

POSITION SUMMARY:

Libertana Home Health’s Human Resources Manager will play a key role in leading and developing the HR department in collaboration with the Vice President of Human Resources. This position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the HR function, including recruitment and staffing, employee relations, training and development, and ensuring compliance with labor laws and company policies. The HR Manager will work closely with leaders across the organization to support a positive workplace culture and foster a productive, engaged, and high-performing workforce.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Must have at least 5+ years of experience in healthcare or related industry preferred.
  2. Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field strongly preferred.
  3. SHRM certification or any other advanced accreditations preferred.
  4. Previous experience leading and working with a team to meet daily, weekly, and quarterly goals.
  5. Prior experience working directly with department managers to ensure that everyone within the company is operating with company, county, state, and industry guidelines.
  6. Advanced knowledge of California employee benefits, unemployment, worker’s compensation, leave of absence and other related employee rights.
  7. Strongly preferred bilingual in Spanish.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Oversight of the HR team and the daily workflow of the department.
  2. Oversight of employee relations throughout the organization
  3. Assist in the development of HR policies and Procedures for the organization.
  4. Completes audits throughout the department to identify areas of improvement, assessing legal compliance is being maintained and ensuring HR practices are contributing to the success of the organization.
  5. Partners with the VP of Human Resources to understand and execute the organization’s human resource and talent strategy as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention and succession planning.
  6. May be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
  7. Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
  8. Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  9. Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  10. Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  11. Works closely with management team and employees to improve work relationships, build morale and increase productivity and retention.
  12. Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
  13. Act as a point of contact for employee concerns, disputes, and grievances.
  14. Facilitate conflict resolution and engage in disciplinary actions as needed.
  15. Promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
  16. Improve manager and employee performance by identifying and clarifying problems; evaluating potential solutions and implementing them as well as coaching and counseling managers and employees when needed.
  17. Assist in the oversight of all Workers Compensation claims and leave of absences.
  18. Monitors the organization’s performance management program.
  19. Maintains, updates, and writes job descriptions.
  20. Some travel may be required in California.
  21. Perform other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel and use of hands and fingers to operate computer, telephone, and keyboard on a frequent basis (Up to 75% of the time).
  • Close vision requirements due to computer work.
  • Light to moderate lifting may be required (up to 25lbs).
